2018-2019

Welcome to Year 3's page!

Keep an eye on our page as we post regular updates on our fantastic learning and also key information here!

Just a quick reminder;

  • 3S have PE on Tuesday and Wednesday. 3D have PE on Wednesday and Thursday. We ask that your child has a plain white t-shirt, black shorts and suitable footwear.

  • Homework (Literacy, Numeracy and Spellings) are given out each Friday. Children have until the following Wednesday to complete and return. We do understand that there may be occasions where this may be late.   Please just let us know in advance as we are happy to re-arrange on the odd occasion. We test spellings on a Friday morning.

  • Please can you make sure your child reads at home each day. We have regular reading rewards and love to follow the famous quote from Dr Seuss... "The more that you read, the more you will know, the more you will know, the more places you will go!

  • Lastly, we are focusing on the sacramental programme (Holy Communion) this year and we encourage any questions regarding this special occasion. Please do not hesitate to approach us for guidance or advice.

Most importantly, we hope your child has fun, broadens their education and cherishes the memories they will build this year. We are sure we will have a fantastic year!

3S Incredible Inventions!

This half term, year 3 have been given the task of inventing something to symbolise our urban pioneers topic. We have had all sorts of amazing creations from headphones, future predictors, robots and remote controls that could stop time! Here are some of the incredible inventions that have been made. We also had an entry into the Nick Carter fear challenge. One of the children in 3S faced her fear of sleeping in the dark! We are incredibly proud of you! Well done.

This morning( 30th April 2019)  the Year 3 children were extremely lucky to spend their morning with birds of prey! We had a visit from the 'Bird Man' who brought along his Bald Eagle, Hawk, Falcon and an Owl. We learned all about predators and prey and had an introduction to food chains! We then had our photos taken with the majestic birds! What a fantastic morning we have had for our topic learning!

Today, the children from Year 3 enjoyed a fantastic trip to the Avenue Library on Victoria Avenue. We looked at how we see things and investigated how light travels. The children, as usual, were incredibly well behaved and set a lovely example of our school.
