Earlier this week, St Clare's Debate Team were extremely lucky to get to go and debate against other schools, at Manchester University. The pupils thoroughly enjoyed debating in a professional setting and feeling like university students.
The two motions they debated were:
1- This House Believes that Community Service should be made compulsory during the Summer holidays for 11-13 year olds.
2- This House would introduce a 4 day school week.
This was the last out of school competition and the children did extremely well. They have really thrived off being in the Debate Programme this year, and have benefited hugely, gaining confidence skills and improving their public speaking.
