Today, some of our Year 6 pupils were lucky enough to go to Our Lady's and take part in an electricity workshop.
Pupils learnt all about electricity, conductors and insulators, and had opportunities to use exciting equipment to build their own circuits. They also joined together in a circle to make a human circuit, representing how, when we all touch, the electricity moves through us, but when one of us breaks the chain, the electricity stops. We tested materials such as spoons, paper clips, pencils and blue tack, to see if electricity flows through them. The thing that surprised us most was learning that electricity can flow through play-dough!
It was lovely for the staff to see the pupils enjoying themselves so much. The look of wonder on their faces when they were shown static electricity was a pleasure to see.
