We are very pleased to be working closely with Manchester Healthy Schools as we work towards achieving our Healthy Schools Bronze Award.
In the past year we have made many achievements, including the implementation of a new interactive PSHE resource which children have responded very well to. Teachers have also received training on both the new scheme and the Relationships and Sex Education curriculum. We listened carefully to parents of children in Years 4,5 and 6 last year as we updated our Relationships and Sex Education policy and received a very positive response from them when we had the opportunity to share the curriculum content and how it would be covered.
This year has started with our participation in the piloting of an exciting new resource on gender stereotypes.
We will also have a heavy focus on mental health and resilience and emotional heath and wellbeing, as we recognise the importance that children are in a strong position to learn and have the tools to lead healthy, happy lives where they make positive choices.
