Our Earth Day 2026 celebrations saw our entire school community come together for a day of hands-on environmental action and scientific discovery. From EYFS and Year 1 planting "seed books" and crafting bird feeders to support local biodiversity, to Year 2 and Year 3 conducting water conservation surveys and mapping our school's trees, students engaged deeply with the natural world. Our older year groups took their learning further: Year 4 focused on habitat conservation through "dead hedging" and bug hotel construction at Heaton Park, while Year 5 and Year 6 combined creativity with advocacy by researching eco-heroes and leading a school-wide "Carbon Footprint Challenge." By blending science, leadership, and outdoor exploration, our students didn't just learn about sustainability—they actively contributed to a greener future for our school and the planet.
