12 November 2018
On Monday 5th November, KS2 had a fantastic day becoming engineers. Our day started off with a visit from the Museum of Science and Industry, where children learned all about the history of engineering, learned what the term meant and took part in a few fun experiments.
They were then given two challenges by Mrs Salza. These were; the egg drop challenge: to design and create a sculpture that would allow an egg to be dropped from a height, and survive with no cracks in the shell. And the flight challenge: to design and create an aeroplane which could carry a heavy cargo. The children thoroughly enjoyed their science day, and learned a lot of new things about STEM (science, technology, engineering’s and maths)
Well done KS2 on your enthusiasm and involvement with our fantastic day, and a huge thank you to the MOSI for their involvement in our first STEM day.
